Offshore Helideck and onshore elevated Heliport surface friction testing, using the Finlay Irvine micro GT Helideck friction tester.

Fully compliant with CAP 437 and UAE GCAA CAR-HVD requirements, this tester employs the braked wheel measuring system with an automatic water delivery system, to realistically simulate a wet deck.

With electronic data gathering it is able to accurately measure helideck surface friction across the whole of the deck at a resolution of 1m squared.

We supply a detailed report after the test and a certificate, valid for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years, according to the friction value (CAR-HVD) or for one year (as per UK CAP 437.

Remember both CAP 437 (8th Edition) and GCAA CAR-HVD are very specific about the friction tester requirements.

There are many different testers being used but very few are compliant.

If the friction tester used does not meet these requirements THEN YOUR TEST CERTIFICATE IS NULL AND VOID.
